Abstract

Hydatid disease is a parasitic infection caused by the cestode tapeworm. Echinococcus granulosus. It is endemic in the cattle grazing areas like India, Australia, New-Zealand, Middle East, Africa, South America and Turkey. In humans the disease commonly involves the liver (75%), lungs (15%), and rarely (10%) other regions of the body may be involved.
